Hey there! My name is Juan Moraza. I’m based in the Chicagoland area, with roots in Zacatecas, Mexico.

I’m a test engineer. I build test automation and the infrastructure around it so a team can move faster. I wrote up how that system grew, from a shared report to a team service, in the test framework series.

About me

I got my B.S. at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I like to build all kinds of things: web applications, mobile apps, quick scripts, Arduino projects (I built a fire glove as part of a group project at school), and non-technical projects like the dice portrait I made for my then girlfriend, now my wife.

I also like making videos about the things I work on.

I really like cars and working on them. Current projects are a 1990 Volvo 240 and a 1979 C3 Corvette.

I’m a dad of two beautiful daughters, a husband, a brother, a son, and a friend. Family is a big part of who I am.

I’m a tech enthusiast. I like learning about AI, software, robots, tech companies, and anything related to how things get built.

A public product I’m working on is Grocie, a food app. It’s free on the App Store and Play Store. I’ve been working on it since 2022. It started as a drawing and became the app it is now.

I also keep notes on tools and setups I find useful, mostly so I don’t forget how I did it.
